ArtisRaw is a Tunisian company specializing in the manufacture and sale of handmade products. We use a diversity of raw materials including olive wood, ceramics, natural wool, palm leaves, esparto grass, jute and cotton rope, juncus, high-quality natural stones, and cotton linens.

We create unique handcrafted products using traditional Tunisian methods and natural raw materials, especially olive wood. We offer a range of categories such as chess sets, drinkware & tumblers, and jars and containers, all carefully handmade with high attention to detail.

Our team of talented artisans and designers use and develop ancestral know-how to handcraft our olive wood products. Each piece is made with love, care, and respect for the material and the environment.

Olive wood is an exceptionally dense Mediterranean hardwood prized for its stunning grain patterns and remarkable durability. With a density of about 980 kg/m³—heavier than oak or maple—its tight grain helps limit moisture and bacterial penetration. Each piece shows unique swirling patterns from golden honey to deep espresso tones.

Olive wood is extremely hard, with a Janka hardness of ~2,710 lbf (12,060 N), harder than white oak or sugar maple. Chemlali’s bending strength (143–160 MPa) is comparable to hickory and ash.

It is denser and more durable than plastic, which accumulates bacteria in knife scars. Unlike hard bamboo, olive wood is gentler on knives while resisting deep gouges.
